Our Story
AscendBHCS was founded in 2008 by Carol “Lynne” Griffin, MSW and Nakia L. Thigpen, MSW, LCSW, LCAC with the goal of making a positive impact in the lives of individuals and families by providing quality interventions and social services. Our passion and faith have led us to work with individuals living with mental illness, substance use, and developmental disabilities, as well as working with children and families referred by the Department of Children Services. We along with our professionals believe in the inherent strengths and resilience of all people and value the privilege to walk beside you on the path to reaching higher levels in life.
Areas Of Service
Indiana PreAdmission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR)
Ascend BHCS has contracted with Maximus since 2017 to complete PASRR Level II Assessments. This onsite PreAdmission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) is administered to individuals living with Intellectual Disability and/or Related Conditions, and/or Mental Illness to assist in determining nursing home or rehabilitation level of care needs.
Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP)
Conducting Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP) 30 Day Assessment Services for eligible children and youth in accordance with the Family First Prevention Services Act (FFPSA) based upon review of records, completion of the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) Assessment, identified as the federally required age-appropriate, evidence-based, validated, and functional assessment tool for the Project, child interview, and interview of the child’s family and permanency team.
